AVR donates €5,000 to De Warmste Week thanks to auction of used harvester

Description

AVR from Roeselare, a firm specialising in potato harvesting machinery and a global player in that segment, has made out a cheque in the amount of €5,000 to this year’s edition of charity event ‘De Warmste Week’. The cheque is the result of the auction of a used potato harvester during the AVR Green Select Days.

Successful auction

“What characterises AVR is that as a growing family business, we remain a warm and approachable player. Being close to our customers and dealers is part of our identity. We believe it is the key to our continued success and sustainable growth", says Sales & Marketing Director Maarten De Smet.

“We want to take that warm aspect further. After several charity collections among AVR staff, we were looking for a playful way to kick it up a gear”, AVR Green Select Manager Stein Rommelaere adds. “The AVR Green Select Days provided us with the perfect opportunity to combine the useful with the meaningful: an auction of used machines, the proceeds of which are donated to charity. An AVR machine on the market, a satisfied customer and a donation to charity: win-win-win.”

AVR and auction house Auctim donated the proceeds and auction fees to the ‘Warmste Week’ charity event*. “This year’s edition focuses on the fight against loneliness, an issue that is unfortunately also highly topical in the agricultural sector, so we are happy to do our bit to help”, Stein concludes.

On Saturday the event concluded with the auction of a used machine, the proceeds of which were donated to De Warmste Week. The auction of this used potato harvester enabled AVR to donate a €5,000 cheque.

* 'De Warmste Week' (The Warmest Week) is a Belgian solidarity campaign organised in December each year. For every new edition a specific theme is chosen in support of different charities.

Voluntary contributions from customers during AVR Winter Fest

Our AVR customers also showed their solidarity: in return for free food and drink at AVR Winter Fest on Saturday 21 December, AVR asked their customers to make a voluntary contribution in support of the action.

AVR went to hand over the cheque in person at the Glass House during De Warmste Week. With this, AVR supports the initiatives of De Warmste Week, which this winter is dedicated to the fight against loniless. This is unfortunately also a hot topic in the agricultural sector. Therefore, as a producer of potato cultivating machines, AVR is happy to do its bit.
